Our Company Story

Since our incorporation in 1987, Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd. ( (the “Company”) (CSE:GCC | OTC: GCCFF | WKN: A402CQ | FSE: 3TZ) has focused on the acquisition, exploration and development of mineral projects in the Cariboo Gold District of British Columbia, Canada.
The Cariboo Gold District has produced gold for more than 160 years, from the original Cariboo Gold Rush to today’s modern mining operations. Our team has been part of that story for decades, contributing to discoveries and operations that helped shape the region’s modern mining landscape.
Golden Cariboo’s management, geology and permitting team were directly responsible for the discovery and development of the Bonanza Ledge Mine and the revitalization of the QR Mine and Mill –two local operations that ultimately contributed to a major acquisition in the region. Additionally, from 2000 to 2009, Golden Cariboo Resources owned about 25% of the Cariboo Gold Project (now owned by Osisko) and conducted detailed exploration and drilling operations along a 30km strike length of the Barkerville Gold Belt. This history gives us a deep understanding of the geology, logistical requirements, and opportunities that still exist across the District.
Golden Cariboo’s flagship asset is the Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property near Hixon, BC — over a 94,000 hectare land package positioned along two highly prospective structural and geological trends of both the Quesnel and Barkerville Terranes. Recent drilling has identified multiple emerging gold and silver zones, including the Halo zone and KM Uno discoveries, reinforcing the Property’s potential for significant scale prospects. With the existing roads cutting through the Property, nearby rail access, nearby amenities, and proximity to existing mill infrastructure, along with the support of an experienced, dedicated team, the Quesnelle Gold Quartz project is well situated for continued success and advancement.

Historical Work - Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine Property

The Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine Property has a rich exploration history spanning back to at least 1866. Early work included approximately 1,250 meters of underground development on six levels at the Main zone, with the mine footprint covering an area of about 150m x 150m. A mill was installed onsite to process ore, however, the Quesnelle Quartz Mining Company were not able to continue mining activities beyond 1939. After the war, exploration activities continued in the area through manual prospecting, mapping, sampling and government funded surveys.

Between 1971 and 1988, over 500 meters of trenching was completed alongside reconnaissance soil and geophysical surveys, as well as 2,863 metres diamond drilling across 22 holes completed between 1972 and 2007. Historical diamond drill results include: 5.72 g/t Au, 20.6 g/t Ag over 1.5m in DDH 83-1 and 6.75 g/t Au and 54.5 g/t Ag over 3m from DDH 07-1 from the Main zone and; 5.2 g/t Au over 2.75m in DDH 88-5 and 11.8 g/t Au and 12.9 g/t Ag over 1.5m in DDH 07-3 from the East zone.
Recent activities have modernized the approach with a 2018 LiDAR and orthophoto survey, airborne magnetic and electromagnetic surveys of adjacent areas. Between 2019 and 2024, Golden Cariboo has secured mineral exploration permits, which are active today, and executed a systematic exploration program including trail upgrade and construction, trenching, detailed MMI soil sampling across the inferred argillite-greenstone contact, all while concurrently conducting a surface diamond drill hole program at the Main zone, North Hixon zone and Halo zone.
The 2019 trench program delivered encouraging results. Notable intercepts included 5 g/t Au and 61.5 g/t Ag from the Koch vein, 9 g/t Au with over 100 g/t Ag from pyritic vein boulders, and an average of 2 g/t Au and 25.3 g/t Ag from quartz vein boulders at the Main shaft.
Ongoing drilling activities currently targets the mineralized units adjacent the argillite-greenstone contact extending between and beyond the Main zone and Halo zone, with a potential strike length of 2km. Additional grassroots exploration activities aim to identify parallel and regional prospects by integrating LiDAR survey data with airborne geophysical surveys along with field sampling and mapping programs, focusing on the units of the Nicola Group in the Quesnel Terrane adjacent the Spanish and Eureka thrust faults, near the Naver pluton, and which covers a strike length of over 70km within the Company’s Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property.

* The Quesnelle Quartz Mining Company, established in 1878, was the fourth mining company registered in British Columbia.

Mr. Callaghan has served as President, CEO and been on the board of numerous public companies in his progressive career in the BC – Yukon mining industry spanning over 35 years. His focus has been in the Gold Bridge/Bralorne, Goldstream/Revelstoke, Wells/Barkerville and Atlin gold camps, including 20 years in the Smithers Cu-Ag-Au and Keno Hill Ag-Pb-Zn camps, culminating in bringing two gold mines into production. Mr. Callaghan is originally responsible for the strategic plan leading to the discovery, financing and initial feasibility work for Osisko Development Corp’s (ODV-TSX.V/ODV-NYSE) Cariboo Gold Project. Mr. Callaghan began assembling the Cariboo Gold Project near Wells in central BC in 1994, made the original Bonanza Ledge Discovery in 2000, processed a 10,000 tonne bulk sample in 2004 at the Mt. Polley Mine, completed approximately 150,000 meters of drilling which was subsequently twinned and expanded upon by Osisko to achieve similar results, initiated the usage of ore sorting technology that is being utilized today, advanced long term environmental studies, established meaningful engagement with the Lhtako Dene Nation and commissioned traditional use studies resulting in the signing of a mutually beneficial Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in 2000.
